VSM quality Abrasives

When VSM's North East Area Sales Manager, Peter Goodier, and his close friend Mark Spolding decided to cycle the 147 mile Coast to Coast route, they didn't expect it to be on the hottest weekend of the year so far!

Starting with their rear wheels in the sea at Whitehaven and finishing with their front wheels in the sea at Tynemouth, the intrepid adventurers aimed to raise money for charity along the way.

Peter's father in law, who worked in the abrasives industry for over 30 years, had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This spurred Peter to try and raise some money to help fight Alzheimer's, a degenerative disease which currently has no cure. 

The intrepid pair completed the challenge in 3 days, despite the unusually high 27 degree temperatures. Peter also managed to keep in touch with his customers from the roof top of England; how's that for customer service!

At the end of the long ride, Peter was presented with a cheque for £150.00 for the Alzheimer's Society from VSM Abrasives Ltd by the Managing Director, Andrew Lythgoe.
